Seasonal Affective Disorder Association
A brief history of the charity that helped people all over the world.
The Seasonal Affective Disorder Association domain (sada.org.uk) was acquired by sad.uk in 2020. We are now merging the two website’s content to provide the most comprehensive resource for seasonal affective disorder.

The SAD Association was a voluntary organisation and registered charity that informed the public and health professions about SAD and supported and advised sufferers of the illness.
SADA was the world’s longest surviving support organisation for Seasonal Affective Disorder and had over 2,000 members. During an average winter, SADA would expect to receive around 1,000 enquiries every week from all over the world.
At its height, it produced a newsletter three times a year and other publications, held meetings, had a network of contacts and local groups, a lightbox hire scheme and raised money for research into SAD.
SADA received no government funding. To continue our work and provide sufferers with information, advice and support.
